2023 Rosé
Tasting Notes: Our 2023 Dark Horse Rosé is a dry style, pale pink wine from sundrenched vineyards of California. Subtle aromas of grapefruit radiate from the glass, revealing bouquets of wild strawberry, sliced watermelon and ripe peach. The palate is bright with a layer of subtle minerality leading to a long, crisp finish.
Viticulture Notes: Grapes for our Rosé are sourced from select vineyards throughout California. Vintage 2023 was of high quality due to a long growing season and extended hang time for the grapes. Cool conditions persisted throughout spring and summer, allowing grapes to develop exceptional ripeness with expressive flavor characteristics, vibrant acidity and ideal balance.
Winemaking Notes: We harvested the fruit for this wine during the cooler evening and morning hours. To achieve intense aromas and an expressive mouthfeel, we fermented the wine cool temperatures between 55-62⁰ F, carefully selecting aromatic yeast. After fermentation, all lots were aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve brightness and balance.
