Tasting Notes: Our 2023 Dark Horse Pinot Grigio is a bright wine that leads with aromas of honeycomb and Meyer lemon peel. This wine is packed with notes of farmer’s market fruit—with layers of ripe pear, sliced green apple and white peach. The mouthfeel is rich, yet crisp, giving the wine refreshing qualities through the long finish.
Viticulture Notes: Grapes for our Pinot Grigio are sourced from select vineyards throughout California. Vintage 2023 was of high quality due to a long growing season and extended hang time for the grapes. Cool conditions persisted throughout spring and summer, allowing grapes to develop exceptional ripeness with expressive flavor characteristics, vibrant acidity and ideal balance.
Winemaking Notes: The wine was fermented at low to moderate temperatures between 55⁰ and 62⁰F, carefully selecting aromatic yeast to create intense aromas. After fermentation, all lots were aged in stainless steel tanks until bottling to preserve their brightness and balance.
